Premier League Match Preview: Burnley vs Liverpool

Burnley are winless in their last seven matches (D2, L5). Turf Moor was once a fortress for the Clarets but they have only won one Premier League home match all season.

Liverpool could be five points behind Manchester City by the time they play on Wednesday. They kept pace over the weekend with a 1-0 win over Everton but the performance was not overly impressive.

Liverpool should certainly beat Burnley but there will be added pressure if City win on Tuesday. Recent encounters between the two sides have produced hard fought, close matches.

Team News

Burnley– Robbie Brady suffered an ankle injury late on against Crystal Palace on Saturday and is a doubt here. Steven Defour is also rated a huge doubt and may have to miss out. Bet Now

James Tarkowski was fit enough to make the bench against Palace and Sean Dyche may use the England international from the start here.

Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes will push for starts if Dyche opts to freshen things up ahead of Wednesday’s welcome of Liverpool.

Liverpool- Andrew Robertson has a dead leg and may be saved for the weekend, while Sadio Mane has a foot problem and could also miss out for Liverpool against Burnley.

Roberto Firmino has looked out of sorts of late but Jurgen Klopp may opt against resting the Brazilian if Mane fails to recover from injury in time.

Firmino may be tasked with replacing Mane on the left flank against Burnley, paving the way for Daniel Sturridge or Divock Origi to start through the middle against the Clarets.

With Jordan Henderson back from suspension, there will also be changes in midfield from the away side.

Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Alberto Moreno will hope to benefit if rotation is applied in defence.
