Premier League Match Preview: Chelsea vs Manchester City

Chelsea has now lost two of their last three in the Premier League and have dropped down to fourth in the Premier League as a result. They could finish the weekend outside the top-four and 13 points adrift of Manchester City.

There is a good chance City will be second by the time their match with Chelsea starts on Saturday evening. City are unbeaten in the Premier League this season and have only dropped points on two occasions.

City have won the last three meetings between the two sides without conceding. Pep Guardiola has also won all three of his previous meetings against sides managed by Maurizio Sarri.

Team News

Chelsea- Maurizio Sarri rested some key players in midweek and Chelsea paid a heavy price, losing 2-1 away to strugglers Wolves. Latest Odds

The likes of David Luiz, Jorginho, Olivier Giroud and Pedro will almost certainly return to the starting XI when Chelsea host Manchester City on Saturday.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek took his opportunity against Wolves with an impressive individual display but it would be a huge show of faith from Sarri if he started here. Ross Barkley or Mateo Kovacic are more likely to complete Chelsea’s midfield three.

Manchester City- Sergio Aguero is a huge doubt for Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge and Pep Guardiola will be desperate to have the Argentine back following Gabriel Jesus’ woes in front of goal in midweek.

Guardiola changed his entire back four against Watford in midweek and should recall on the likes of Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte at Stamford Bridge.

With Kevin De Bruyne expected to miss out against his former club, David Silva, Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho should be safe to start.

Fabian Delph should continue at left-back with Benjamin Mendy sidelined and Oleksandr Zinchenko recovering from a broken nose.

Raheem Sterling will return to the starting XI but it will come at the expense of Riyad Mahrez or Leroy Sane.
