Manchester United are winless in four matches and their supporters booed the team off after a 0-0 draw with Valencia on Tuesday night. There are suggestions Jose Mourinho will be sacked if they lose to Newcastle on Saturday.
Things aren’t going well for Newcastle, either. Rafa Benitez was also booed following a 2-0 defeat to Leicester last weekend and the Magpies are still looking for their first win all season. They have lost six of eight matches in all competitions.
Newcastle won at Old Trafford in 2013 but lost 4-1 on their last visit. Do not expect a similar result in favour of United this time around, as Mourinho appears to have lost a large section of the dressing room. The crisis will deepen if they fail to win on Saturday evening. Bet Now

Chelsea knocked Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 win at Anfield on Wednesday night and they’ll hope to repeat that victory in Saturday’s evening kick-off at Stamford Bridge.
Their 100% record ended at West Ham last week and a return to winning ways against Liverpool would send out a strong statement of intent.
The Reds were understrength against Chelsea in midweek, yet a host of regular starters are expected to return to the first team fold, including former Chelsea man Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Georginio Wijnaldum, Alisson and Joe Gomez, to name five.
Liverpool has won two of the last three league meetings between these two at Stamford Bridge and the table toppers will hope to capitalise on any centre-back uncertainty in the hosts’ camp. Start forecasting your weekend games now
This is a tough game to call and while Chelsea will have been buoyed by their Carabao Cup win on Wednesday, with the two teams reverting to their stronger XIs, we could see a draw here.

Liverpool secured a 3-2 win over PSG in midweek to get their Champions League campaign up and running. Jurgen Klopp will have been unhappy in the manner with which they threw away a two-goal lead, but they are unbeaten in their last four home league meetings with Southampton.
Saints, too, threw away a two-goal lead earlier this week as they were held 2-2 by Brighton. They won their last away league game, coming away 2-0 victors at Crystal Palace, yet will be up against it against a rampant Liverpool side.
Liverpool has looked a little shaky at the back of late but should extend their unbeaten home run and maintain their 100% start to the season here. Latest weekend game odds, Bet now on NaijaBet

Watford are one of only three sides with a 100 per cent record in the Premier League this season. The Hornets have incredibly won their opening four matches.
Manchester United have won two and lost two of their opening four and languish down in mid-table. It’s been a difficult start to the season for Jose Mourinho and it shows no sign of relenting here.
United have struggled at Vicrage Road of late. They have conceded on each of their last five visits and have shipped five goals in their last two. Did the international break come at the wrong time for Watford or can they inflict more misery on Mourinho’s side?
Watford- Tom Cleverley, Gerard Deulofeu and Miguel Britos are the only injury concerns for Watford this weekend.
Javi Gracia is not expected to make any changes from the side that started their 2-1 win over Tottenham before the international break.
Manchester United- Diogo Dalot insists he is ready to make his Manchester United derby but will likely be saved for their EFL Cup match with Derby later this month.

Tottenham’s 100% start to the season came to an abrupt end before the international break as they fell to a 2-1 loss at Watford. They won this fixture 4-1 last season, but this won’t be a mere walk in the park for the north London side.
Along with Watford and Chelsea, Liverpool have won four of four and top the Premier League coming into their trip to Wembley. Since their 4-1 loss to Spurs at Wembley last term, the Reds have conceded just 23 goals in 33 league matches, fewer than any other top-flight side over that same period.
This is a tough one to call, but promises to be an exciting match between two of the Premier League’s most entertaining teams. Various betting options are available on site, Bet now

Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw with Wolves last weekend and will look to return to winning ways when they host Newcastle. They’ve won five of their last six home meetings with Newcastle, scoring 22 goals in that run.
Newcastle have made a disappointing start to the season, picking up just one point so far, and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
Against a City side hellbent on returning to winning ways after a week off from competitive action, they could face a long 90 minutes at the Etihad Stadium.
Indeed, the hosts should make light work of Newcastle here. NaijaBet
Manchester City- Pep Guardiola is without Danilo, Eliaquim Mangala, Kevin De Bruyne and Claudio Bravo for the welcome of Newcastle.
The City boss could name a similar looking XI to the one that started the 6-1 win over Huddersfield, which would see Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus lead the attack. Continue reading “EPL Match Preview: Manchester City vs Newcastle United”
Chelsea have won their first three league games and beat Newcastle last weekend with 81% possession. They were turned over 3-0 the last time they played Bournemouth at home and will be out for revenge on Saturday.
Bournemouth have made an impressive start to the season, unbeaten through four matches in all competitions. They even came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Everton last weekend.
This should be an entertaining game between two sides that try and play appealing football. Chelsea haven’t had it all their own way against the Cherries in the past and should expect another tough encounter.
Chelsea- Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has no reason to make any changes from the side that beat Newcastle last weekend.
Eden Hazard started his first game of the season and will remain in the XI.
Bournemouth- Diego Rico and Jefferson Lerma both made their Bournemouth debuts in Tuesday’s 3-0 win over MK Dons in the EFL Cup. Continue reading “EPL Match Preview: Chelsea vs Bournemouth”

Newcastle have started the season with two straight defeats. Their performances have been good in patches but Rafa Benitez will be desperate to get some points on the board as quickly as possible.
Maurizio Sarri has won his first two Premier League games as Chelsea manager, defeating Huddersfield and Arsenal. Now he faces off against the man he replaced at Napoli in 2015, Rafa Benitez. Sarri is unbeaten in two previous meetings with Benitez, downing Napoli 4-2 with minnows Empoli in one of the matches.
Chelsea are winless in their last five matches away to Newcastle, so can expect a tough afternoon on Sunday. They have lost four of those but are in a much better place compared to their opponents heading into the weekend and will hope to change that record here.

Arsenal have lost their first two league matches but Unai Emery was handed a difficult start, with matches against the last two Premier League cham- pions Manchester City and Chelsea. The Gunners will be desperate to get off the mark in this London derby.
West Ham have also lost their first two matches, following up a 4-0 loss to Liverpool with a 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth last weekend. The latter would have been particularly disappointing for the Hammers as they took the lead in that match.
West Ham have only scored two goals in their last five matches against Arsenal and were beaten 4-1 on their last visit to the Emirates. Their difficult start to the season looks set to continue here.
Arsenal- Mesut Ozil could lose his place in the starting XI after an unconvincing start to life under new Arsenal manager Unai Emery.
Granit Xhaka has also struggled in midfield for the Gunners and will surely be replaced against West Ham.
Nacho Monreal recovered from injury to start at left-back for Arsenal and should continue here for the home side. Bet Now

Wolves have made a disappointing start to life back in the Premier League, only managing one point from their opening two matches.
Manchester City are high on confidence after thrashing Huddersfield 6-1 last weekend. They have made a perfect start to the defence of their Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola’s side failed to score in 120 minutes against Wolves in the League Cup last season, requiring penalties against the then-Championship side.
Wolves can take confidence from that performance but they aren’t expected to have the same joy here. City already look irresistible and look set for another three points. Start forecasting your weekend games Now
Wolverhampton Wanderers- Adama Traoré made his Wolves debut from the bench in a 2-0 defeat to Leicester last weekend and will push to start here.
Matt Doherty was forced off following a horrendous tackle from Jamie Vardy last weekend, which resulted in a red card for the Leicester striker, and remains a doubt here.
Ivan Cavaleiro is expected to miss out for the home side once again, while Leander Dendoncker lacks match fitness and will hope to make the bench at best here. Continue reading “EPL Match Preview: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester City”
Brighton slipped to a 2-0 defeat away to Watford on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season and will be out to cause a shock against Manchester United for a second home encounter in a row.
United overcame Leicester 2-1 last weekend but generally struggled away to sides like Brighton and Huddersfield last season. Jose Mourinho’s side are still vulnerable in these early stages and will have to improve their performance from last weekend to come away with all three points here.
Brighton have conceded a staggering 23 league goals from set-pieces since the start of last season and the return of Ashley Young could prove key for the away side here. Only Watford have conceded more (24) from deadball positions in the Premier League during the same period. Bet Now
Brighton- Yves Bissouma made a good impact off the bench in Brighton’s opening-weekend 2-0 defeat to Watford and will push for a full debut here.
Glenn Murray recovered from a knock to start against the Hornets, while Jurgen Locadia was only fit enough for a place on the bench.
Chris Hughton is hopeful Jose Izquierdo and Florin Andone will be available next weekend, while James Tilley remains a doubt for the Seagulls. Continue reading “EPL Match Preview: Brighton vs Manchester United”
Manchester City followed up their Community Shield victory over Chelsea with an opening-weekend 2-0 win away to Arsenal. Pep Guardiola’s side only managed a 0-0 draw in this fixture last season but did thump the Terriers 5-1 at home in the FA Cup last year. Expect a result closer to the latter than the former here.
Huddersfield were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Chelsea on the opening-weekend and things will be more difficult on Sunday when they travel to the Etihad to face defending Premier League champions City. The Terriers only won three of their 19 Premier League away matches last season, failing to score in 13 of those.
Manchester City- Danilo and Eliaquim Mangala are still sidelined for the home side, while they have now been joined by star man Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian could reportedly be out for as long as three months with a serious knee injury.
Ilkay Gündogan should keep his place in midfield as a result of De Bruyne’s injury, as David Silva still hasn’t featured for Pep Guardiola’s side and will lack match fitness. Premier League, La Liga, SerieA, and Ligue1 Betting options are available on NaijaBet
Gabriel Jesus will hope to replace Sergio Aguero up front, while Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, and Riyad Mahrez compete for starting berths on the flanks.

Chelsea got their season up and running with a comfortable 3-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday. The Blues are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 home meetings, winning seven, so will fancy their chances of putting another three points on the board here.
Arsenal were outplayed in their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City last Sunday and their start to the season doesn’t get any easier with their trip to Stamford Bridge. Unai Emery will hope his side are a little more defensively disciplined than they were against City last week.
However, while Emery will hope for an improvement, Chelsea should inflict further misery upon Arsenal in Saturday’s Premier League game of the weekend. Latest odd for Weekend Games are available on NaijaBet
Chelsea- Cesc Fabregas is carrying a knee injury and joins Izzy Brown and Marco van Ginkel on the sidelines.

Newcastle may have left it late, but are beginning to strengthen in key areas of the squad. The Magpies ended the 2017/18 campaign on a high with a 3-0 win over Chelsea, but will be keen to avoid a similar start to last season where they lost 2-0 to Tottenham.
Spurs are paying the price for their players going so far in the World Cup as they boast a lengthy absentee list coming into their opening game of the season and are, at the time of writing, yet to do any business in the transfer market.
They won both league games against Newcastle last season, however, and have won three of their last four visits to St. James’ Park.
However, any hopes of a repeat of their 2-0 win over Newcastle last term will depend on what Magpies side turns up. The fans will be desperate for a positive result, with a draw on the cards. Bet Now NaijaBet

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been handed a tough start to life in England with opening fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea. The Gunners have looked good in pre-season and will hope to catch their rivals off so early in the campaign.
Manchester City showed no hangover from last season’s Premier League triumph when they beat Chelsea 2-0 in last weekend’s Community Shield. Pep Guardiola’s side are still the team to beat and will hope to show that again this weekend.
City have scored three goals in each of their last three matches against Arsenal, while Emery has never beaten Guardiola in 10 attempts (D4, L6).

Liverpool are considered the closest challengers to Manchester City for the Premier League title and it’s imperative Jurgen Klopp’s side get off to a good start following their good summer. The Reds have scored four goals in each of their last three matches against West Ham.
West Ham will hope for some continuity on and off the field this season. They have appointed a former Premier League-winning manager and have made, potentially, some very exciting signings. This, however, is a nightmare opening game for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Liverpool- Dejan Lovren is not fit enough to feature for Liverpool following his late return from the 2018 World Cup, while there are also question marks over the fitness of the England players that were involved in Russia.
Joel Matip is also ruled out for the home side after succumbing to injury once again, meaning Joe Gomez should partner Virgil Van Dijk at the back if he can recover from a knock in time. Bet Now
Trent Alexander-Arnold featured in Liverpool’s final pre-season game and should be fit enough to start, but Jordan Henderson may have to settle for a place on the bench. Continue reading “EPL Match Preview: Liverpool vs West Ham”
Manchester United endured a rotten pre-season and Jose Mourinho has conceded he is already expecting the worst on Friday. However, Mourinho is unbeaten in nine opening-weekend matches, winning eight times in that time.
Leicester only won two of their five pre-season matches and Claude Puel will more than likely not be able to field his best XI at Old Trafford. The Foxes have only won one of their last 20 matches against the Red Devils and haven’t won at Old Trafford since January 1998.
Claude Puel’s side won’t get many better chances to beat United than Friday. They are short of players and confidence heading into the opening weekend, while Mourinho has done little to help the mood around the team. Nevertheless, the history books are stacked against the away side and a scrappy home win looks most likely. Various betting options are available on Site
Manchester United- Jose Mourinho has real problems ahead of Manchester United’s season opener against Leicester on Friday due to injuries and players returning late from the 2018 World Cup.

Andreas Pereira impressed in pre-season and should earn a spot in midfield, with Marcus Rashford set to lead the line after cutting short his holiday to help Mourinho. Continue reading “EPL Match Preview: Manchester United vs Leicester City”

Manchester United secured the point they needed to finish second in the Premier League with a dull 0-0 draw at West Ham United on Thursday.
There were few chances in a tepid first half, though Alexis Sanchez forced a good save from West Ham keeper Adrian and Marko Arnautovic looked the most likely West Ham player to make a breakthrough.
Paul Pogba curled a couple of shots narrowly wide for Manchester United, and the France midfielder was booked in the dying stages for kicking out at West Ham’s Mark Noble, who was also shown a yellow card as tempers frayed.
Manchester United, 19 points behind champions Manchester City, moved four points clear of third-placed Tottenham Hotspur with one league game left, and will play Chelsea in the FA Cup final on May 19. West Ham are 15th in the table.
