Uefa has banned goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon for three matches for comments he made about the referee after Juventus lost in the Champions League quarterfinals in April, European soccer’s governing body said on Tuesday.
Buffon was enraged by English referee Michael Oliver’s decision to award Real Madrid a stoppage-time penalty during the second leg at the Bernabeu and lost control, screaming at and jostling the Englishman until he was shown a red card.

Nothing pleases Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri and his players more than a good defensive display.
The Serie A leaders now boast both the best attack as well as the meanest defence in the league but it is the latter statistic which fills Allegri with the most pride.
Juventus, chasing a seventh successive title, beat Atalanta 2-0 on Wednesday to move four points clear at the top of the table and have yet to let in a Serie A goal this year.

Allegri has heaped praise on Costa, who has in recent months provided game-changing speed down the wing and been a thorn in the side of opposition defences. Continue reading “Costa dribbling skills will sparks Juventus treble bid”

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has told his team that they will lose to AC Milan in Saturday’s Serie A showdown at San Siro unless they improve from what he considered an untidy display in their last match.
Both teams enjoyed 4-1 wins on Wednesday with Juve beating SPAL at home and Milan winning away to Chievo, but there were very different reactions from the two coaches.
Milan’s Vincenzo Montella was a happy and relieved man after his big-spending side ended a four-match winless run in the league, lifting some of the pressure off his shoulders after talk that his job was on the line.
“It’s a victory that gives us belief and strength,” he said. “We had already seen significant improvements in the quality of football over recent games and I am very satisfied with this performance.”
There were no such sentiments from Allegri whose side rushed to a 2-0 lead in only 23 minutes but then let SPAL back into the game. The visitors pulled one goal back and had an equaliser disallowed before two quickfire goals got Juventus off the hook. Play Bet on Weekend’s games 👉 NaijaBet
